Conference: 'Physical interventions policy development for mainstream schools'

This event will explore policy and best practice in relation to the effective support of children and young people including the use of restrictive physical interventions. The day will explore:

- Policy development
- Practice issues
- Training issues and delivering training
- The implementation of national guidance
- An overview of the BILD Code of Practice and information on the BILD Accreditation Scheme

It is an opportunity to network, discuss and gain knowledge that will enhance practice within schools and lead to the development of appropriate frameworks for supporting children and young people who may be described as having or using challenging behaviour.

Aims of the day:

- To highlight national guidance for schools and examine implications for practice
- To share a framework for policy development and examine good policy documents
- To discuss the importance of behaviour audit, reporting and recording as well as training
- To explore best practice principles.

Who should attend:

This day will be useful for headteachers, teachers, governors, SENCO’s and learning support workers in mainstream schools, pupil referral services, pupil support and behaviour support services.
