BILD Student membership

If you are a student in a learning disabilities subject or in health, education, or social care, membership of BILD provides you with access to invaluable resources to help your studies.

Student Membership provides a low-cost means of benefiting from BILD's experience and contacts.

If you are studying for a learning disability qualification through BILD or a BILD satellite centre, then this is the low-cost associate membership option which will open the door to a range of helpful resources.

As a Student member your benefits include:

- a monthly copy of eCAS, the digital version of BILD's Current Awareness Service, which will help keep you up to date on new developments in the field of learning disabilities

- use of the BILD CASonline database containing over 40,000 journal article and research references going back over 10 years, very useful for those researching an area

- a 10% discount on subscriptions to 'Good Autism Practice' and 'The SLD Experience'

- a digital copy of the BILD Member's pack, full of useful information about learning disability issues and organisations

- a monthly electronic newsletter from BILD keeping you up to date with our work and news and information from other organisations

- free places on some BILD one day events, and discounts on places at BILD conferences

- opportunity to influence BILD by using your vote at our Annual General Meeting

The BILD Student membership is available for a maximum of three years; following this, we offer student members a 50% reduction for the first year of BILD Professional membership.

We hope that students will take this opportunity to get access to a range of useful benefits and, through attending events, meet others working in their chosen field.

Open to all full time students on undergraduate courses. BILD Student membership is for a maximum of three years per person.

As a professional in your chosen field of work, you will probably be aware that membership of BILD provides you with access to invaluable information, resources and contacts. This offers a very cost-effective means of extending your networks and keeping up-to-date with news and developments.

As a Professional member your benefits include:

- A free subscription to one of our journals - choose from British Journal of Learning Disabilities (printed or online), Journal of Applied Research in Intellectual Disabilities (printed or online), or the BILD Current Awareness Service designed to keep you up to date with everything new in learning disabilities

- a 20% discount on subscriptions to 'Good Autism Practice' and 'The SLD Experience'

BILD Personal Membership

This category is meant in particular for those who are caring for a family member with a learning disability, and for those who are unwaged. It is also the membership choice for students who want a free Journal choice.

A Personal membership of BILD provides you with access to information and resources to help keep you better informed about learning disabilities.

As a Personal member your benefits include:

BILD Personal Membership for people who have a learning disability

Advocacy groups can join BILD as a Voluntary Group member , but you can join BILD on your own as well if you want to. If you join on your own it costs £10.

You can have a monthly copy of the BILD Current Awareness Service, or eCAS the digital version, sent to you by email - these will keep you up to date with everything new in learning disabilities - or you can have a copy of the British Journal of Learning Disabilities journal every three months. Choose from the list below.

You will get regular email newsletters from BILD if you have an email address.

You have a chance to make a difference to how BILD is run by coming to our Annual General Meeting.

You have a choice of ways to pay for BILD services. The easiest is to pay with your credit or debit card online from this site. To ensure the security of your information your payment is processed for us by SecureTrading.
